🚨WORTHY ESSAY ALERT🚨

"but i’m more interested in a different question. what happens when a spell becomes cheaper than a worker."

The traditional magic=tech worldbuilding question has always bored me. Add class analysis to the mix? I'm in.

The retconning of George Floyd
Bari Weiss's Free Press is the latest outlet to tout a conspiratorial documentary alleging that Derek Chauvin was wrongly convicted. It's all nonsense.

Legal observers at the Whipple Federal Building witnessed ICE agents swapping out license plates in the ICE staging location. Masked agents who already routinely refuse to identify themselves are now swapping license plates at whim to kidnap our neighbors and tear apart families.

When a fed agent says "we need help" in calling MPD, and MPD shows up, that's MPD helping.

The whole point is that these abductions are illegitimate. They are the opposite of public safety. An "aid an officer" call from one of these abductions should not be treated as legitimate by local gov.
Here's the video we put together about Monday's standoff with ICE agents in South Minneapolis (29th and Pillsbury). More details at MPRNews.org: youtube.com/shorts/ZgQpV...

Fascists target weakness. If ICE's attacks aren't met with absolute resistance by those in leadership, it draws further attacks. Minneapolis residents have already shown their resistance day after day by standing against ICE kidnapping our neighbors.

Friedrich Engels was born 205 years ago today.

We should thank him for helping out his friend Karl Marx — but also for the critique of capitalism he produced in his own right.

For decades, a neoliberal-captured Supreme Court allowed corporations to evade and defer massive tax debts to the Mexican state. Recent rulings suggest that era may be over.

The Early IWW’s Unionism Was So Effective That Capitalists Decided It Had to Be Smashed
The Industrial Workers of the World pioneered a radical unionism that built a small but incredibly dedicated group of unionists and union supporters — which is why American capitalists and politicians quickly decided they needed to stop the union.
