It's been an amazing journey and even with all the stress and hardships of academic life it has ultimately given me so much joy. I've met so many brilliant and wonderful people in these last few years and I'm already excited (if a little scared) about what's next!

Great summary of the bizarre to outright disgusting debate following the Equality Minister's statement to parliament regarding the Wednesday supreme court ruling
Bridget Phillipson’s statement is shockingly bad.
- “Move Forward” has never been more loaded.
- There has not been a single real reassurance for trans people.
- A load of bullshit about mixed sex wards which has nothing to do with trans people or this judgement.

What I hate most about the current assault on trans rights is not just the content itself, but the disgusting hypocrisy of all the people cheering this on while making sympathetic noises about how they are oh so concerned about our rights. It is insulting, it is shamefully false, it is vile.

"It would create heterogeneous groupings" So does classifying people by so-called biological sex. So will any attempt to classify humans into two sex categories. The heterogeneity is a genuine unavoidable fact of human experience, not something to be avoided by drawing the line in the right place.
