There are some very famous regiments in the Civil War doing some amazing things, but none to my mind match the grit, determination, and sacrifice of the 1st Minnesota. Ordered to charge and they did, basically saving the US center on day 2.
Why did Tim Walz mention Gettysburg? 262 men of the 1st Minnesota Infantry charged into immortality on July 2, 1863. Outnumbered by six-to-one they engaged in fifteen minutes of the hardest fighting by a single regiment in the Civil War. 47 men answered the roll when it was all over.

Shred DHS to its last atom
The Minneapolis pastor had observed "ICE agents circling a young woman who appeared to be Hispanic" and insisted they take him instead of harassing her. An agent then “came, got in my face, pointed a gun at me, and said, ‘Are you afraid now?’” trib.al/k06XIZQ

Despite how fucking insane the past week or so has been, Senate Democrats got a war powers resolution through from the minority & House Democrats got a 7th discharge petition through & are about to pass extending the ACA subsidies with a sizable chunk of Republicans despite being in the minority.

It’s just wild to see domestic forces have looser rules of engagement in Minnesota than we had in Kandahar.

Host: We have a breaking development on the investigation into the ICE shooting in Minneapolis. The FBI is now taking sole control of this investigation, banning the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension from having any access to the case materials. This is very, very unusual.

Democrats. Doing. Stuff.
Leader Jeffries: There's no evidence to justify the shooting of an unarmed woman in Minneapolis. Kristi Noem has 0 credibility. We've got to make sure the rogue ICE agent who pulled the trigger, resulting in the death of an American citizen, is criminally investigated to the full extent of the law.

I was hoping Walz would do this to protect Minnesotans and challenge ICE and their actions. The Guard must be on the side of the people, not the feds.
Tim Walz is mobilizing the MN National Guard, and reminds Minnesotans that the guard "is OURS - our teachers and our neighbors." He asks Minnesotans to respect them. "They're there to protect you and your constitutional rights. They don't wear masks."

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

For the soul of the woman killed by federal agents in Minneapolis, Lord hear our prayer.

For comfort to those who loved her, Lord hear our prayer.

For Justice to be done on earth as it is in heaven, Lord hear our prayer.

For wisdom and judgment for our worldly leaders, Lord hear our prayer.
