Congress demanded Jack Smith testify about his investigations, but kept him behind closed doors during his sworn deposition. If we care about transparency, then Congress should release the transcript. My thoughts in Bloomberg.

Release the Jack Smith Deposition Transcript
This week, former special counsel Jack Smith finally had the chance to speak about the findings of his investigation into President Donald Trump. It’s a shame the public couldn't hear him.

In light of the Epstein Blackout, shouldn’t Khanna and Massie demand Johnson call the House back into session? (If he won’t, can they somehow hijack the pro forma session scheduled for Tuesday Dec. 23?) And Senators should make a similar demand of Thune.

DHS's official X account is now copy-pasting anti-immigration posts from Stephen Miller's wife.

You can tell from the capitalization; they just added "POTUS" in front of the 2019 and 2020 bits, but didn't fix the capitalization of the sentence from Miller's post.

But, driving home from school drop-off this AM, listening to a radio story about Medicare-related "fraud tourism" charges in MN (that unfortunate concept being a brand new one to me)...

Muting a Black woman to claim the vote was unanimous is so incredibly on the nose
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

It's a small thing, but such an encouraging trend, when someone posts with a typo – and rather than correcting it, people go ahead and like it, repost, and engage in convo without mentioning it.

Trump doubles down on his Rob Reiner attack: "I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person... He became like a deranged person, Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape or form. I thought he was very bad for our country."

Not to get too meta, but the genius of the bit is that it carries so much more than the physical comedy of the sketch (which is great). Archie Bunker has a way to do things: the way he's always done them, the way everyone is supposed do them. No one should be different, and nothing should change.
There is so much for which to remember Rob Reiner. In my family, we have long treasured this one bit he did with Carroll O'Connor on "All in the Family." It has always made me laugh, no matter how many times I've watched it. And we all could use a good laugh these days

When the AI boom began, copywriters were singled out as one of the jobs most vulnerable to AI. Now, three years later, I wanted to hear from workers on the frontlines of the industry, to hear what had actually taken place on the ground.

For many, it was even worse than they'd feared.
