Make the Goddamn meal and put it in your Free Fridge. Write the $100 check to the food bank. Ask your local school what they need for the kids and then go about trying to get that stuff.... Do these things regularly and you are making meaningful contributions to your communities.

I think that superhero movies have done a number of human beings conditioning some people to believe that extraordinary actions are what matter. And if one can't be a superhero, then simple, ordinary efforts aren't worth doing.

He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

Her husband told her that detainees at Broadview had to get up at 5am to get in line for one bathroom. He often peed himself. One time he had to wait until 2pm to use the bathroom. You could only use the bathroom once a day. He said the agents would beat you if you used the bathroom on yourself.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

noteworthy context, though the disproportionate distribution of risk relative to credit still stands.
Many tellings of her story imply her only involvement was involuntary and without her permission (via the infamous 'Photo 51').

In fact she was MUCH more involved than this, including absolutely bodying one of Watson and Crick's first models because it was chemically inept.

Rosalind Franklin died at 37 of ovarian cancer attributed to radiation exposure from the methods she & her assistant used to photograph a cross-section of the DNA double helix.

Meanwhile, Watson won a Nobel off that work & survived to the ripe old age of 97 by simply: stealing those notes!

Huge!
BREAKING: Book banning extremist group “Moms For Liberty” LOST ALL 31 of their races.

Moms for Liberty is now 0-59 in contested school board races since 2023.

This is what happens when communities have had enough and say NO to book bans!

Trump's consolidation of authoritarian power is inseparable from the economic carnage he's unleashed. Tariffs, DOGE bloodbath, federal worker firings, killing of NY-NJ tunnel etc are *abuses of power* that *also* hurt the economy. Dems can say both these things. 4/

There’s a weird tendency in the discourse to treat attacking Trump as evading “real” issues working-class voters care about. But I looked at ads from the winning campaigns: They attacked Trump *and* they addressed material concerns. Because this is *his* economy! 3/

ICE deported him anyways.

They literally put a man who was at death’s door on a plane to Costa Rica.

Doctors there found he had encephalopathy, rhabdomyolysis and the inability to eat on his own.

What happened to him in ICE custody to cause this?

He died a few weeks after deportation:

More people have died in ICE custody in last 9 months than in the entire prior 4 years.

We hear of a few, but most barely make the news.

Cases like Randall Alberto Gamboa Esquivel.

He was in perfect health when ICE detained him.

He disappeared in June & by August was in a vegetative state.

Dick Cheney was a cruel bureaucrat who made corrupt institutions more abusive. Officials in those institutions then surrendered what was left of their morals to accommodate his evil vision. In time, those institutions became even more corrupt. What politicians say today will be revealing of the rot.

So many people were detained extrajudicially, were tortured, or died because of Dick Cheney. You can't get to the danger we're in now without everything he did. The weapons he helped forge are ones we need to take away from U.S. presidents forever.

If you don't remember the Bush / Cheney years, don't think of him as Bush's JD Vance. He was Bush's Stephen Miller.

This is a new political moment NOT ONLY in the darkness and in what's happening in D.C. and Mar a Lago--it's a new political moment in the ground-level movement that is knitting us together in action. This fight is just beginning. #chicagostrong (3)

This is not what's happening in Chicago as we call to verify people for direct action group chats. Instead, people are warm, excited, grateful to each other for showing up, neighborly, and activated. People who have never done anything similar are showing up for this. (2)

If you can't trace a video back to a trusted source then I recommend leaving it where it is, like a slice of bologna you found on the street
