Pleasantly surprised to see Starmer saying deepfakes are wrong- half expected him to say he wanted to UK the leader in the deepfake industry.

The daughter of Otto Frank's second wife, who was a month older than Anne Frank, died two days ago - just reminding us all how very young she was when she was murdered, just like so many other Holocaust victims

2025 was the year I stood my ground with a huge international publishing company, took them to court, and succeeded by using their own tactics against them. If you've ever published a book, or signed a contract with a publisher, read on... a looong thread but I hope a helpful one!

For me both are important. On my lunch break or at home I like videos. When I'm driving, working, etc. I only want video. I hate that the industry refuses to just let different mediums be different.

Recently at a Q&A, the chair asked me an excellent question: Why do you push so hard against the idea of a ‘nature cure’ when moments in your book Drystone - A Life Rebuilt might look like exactly that?

The answer is simple.

It's like someone heard that fascist regimes made the trains run on time, and so having inefficient rail systems was the mark of a working democracy.

There have been many attempts at lampooning Elton John over the years, but the brilliance in Neil Innes' approach from RUTLAND WEEKEND TELEVISION is to emulate Elton's musicianship while gently ribbing the oft-times endearingly flowery/nonsensical nature of Bernie Taupin's lyrics...

In 2023, 173 people in Surrey reported finds to the PAS, equal to 5.7% of the membership of this club + I'm sure there's plenty of other detectorists in Surrey, showing once again that despite claims to the contrary, only a tiny minority of detectorists report any finds to the PAS #ancientbluesky
An onslaught on heritage: "Surrey Metal Detecting Club… membership has rocketed… to more than 3,000 in 2025."

"We're not in it for the treasure, we're history finders" says a man who's "found thousands of coins" and has a shelf at home "where it's all Roman - coins, brooches and stuff like that."
The Surrey Metal Detecting Club sees membership leap in six years
Founded with 60 members in 2019, the Surrey club now has more than 3,000 members across the county.
