👀 So while all eyes were on the budget, Ministers just slipped out their North Sea Future Plan. While it’s good to see them stick to manifesto pledge not to grant new licenses, it’s a shame to see approval of “tiebacks” to existing fields - unnecessary concession that undermines climate messages

The more I think about it, the more I believe that one of the central problems in European politics is an ageing society, which incentivises governments to make policies for old rather than young people which is not only unfair but stifles innovation& economic growth.

Having served on a jury in a rape trial, I'd have preferred a judge to decide guilt/innocence than a bunch of people who were sadly incapable of applying any logic to the clear evidence they were presented with and prepared, given their blatant sexism, to see the defence counsel destroy the victim.

Ik ben helemaal voor een debat over NPO op basis van FEITEN. Als Plas en haar extreemrechtse kornuiten overtuigd zijn dat NPO links is, laat ze dan initiatief nemen om daar SYSTEMATISCH onderzoek naar te doen. Dus niet onderzoek BBB-style “ik zag laatst dit en dat is het bewijs”.

At least on the simplification/deregulation agenda, it now seems to be the de facto EP majority:

This is bad news for the climate and bad news for all of us. New oil and gas is incompatible with limiting global warming to 1,5°C. As such, it may also violate human rights, as a Dutch court hinted last year.
