Man its like just so invasive and gross feeling to see "Edit Image" appear over other people's images. Musk decided to give us the only kind of gift he can for christmas, sickening disappointment. Best of luck out there folks.

We hope the BlueSky moderators don't flag today's offering for #MosaicMonday as being, ahem... prawnographic. 😳

The idea of generating refs is odd.

No research “happy accidents” ?
No way to know how much of it is plagiarized?
Mistakes galore from a fever dream copy of a copy?

Every time I hear about generative AI, the answer to “Why?” is degenerative in so many ways.

"This promise of an AI future, is really just a collective anxiety that wealthy people have about how well they're gonna be able to control us in the future."

- @tressiemcphd.bsky.social with an absolute mic drop moment about AI bullshit.

Incredible words.
Listen to all of it!

One of my neighbors has been putting up these fish facts posters. All kinds of different fish, marine, freshwater, deep, shallow, all kinds. This is a good one. “Stg this real fish” took me out. Good work, neighbor.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have made a HUGE breakthrough towards a UNIVERSAL antiviral. By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that SHARE structural similarities, they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses.

"it's inevitable" has never struck me as a compelling argument for AI. never seen a genuinely useful technology ushered in with the enthusiasm of a tired mom coming to terms with the fact that her kids are going to pick up foot fungus at a community pool.
