Please, I am begging you, do not tell AI to translate for you. Do not just use a translate button on languages you can't read. Please ask a human being to help you. Machine translations are often close enough on a sentence level but that is NOT good enough for anything you take seriously.
"Use AI for translations"

Hey, who was doing translations before? How did we train AI to do translations? Who was the author of the translations that were fed into AI?

Ah, I see, another "ethical" use.

“disavowing” your vote does jack shit for the people who said it would harm them and are now screwed by the current thing they asked you not to do
Rep. April McClain Delaney is disavowing her January vote in support of a law that requires federal law enforcement to detain undocumented immigrants accused — but not convicted — of certain crimes.

Say it with me now- placeholder assets are supposed to be bright and obvious so you DON’T ship with them.

Also it doesn’t matter if no ai-generated assets are in the final executable?? The rising sea levels aren’t gonna be like “oh well no one saw that so the climate change doesn’t count”

BREAKING: Instacart is ending all price testing on its platform in the wake of this report.
EXCLUSIVE: We found that Instacart is using AI algorithms to charge customers different prices for the same items.

It's not just online. It's in physical grocery stores too.

Our months-long investigation with @consumerreports.org and @groundwork.bsky.social found it could cost families $1200/year.

Hi, we don’t use genAI in any phase of production ESPECIALLY CONCEPTING because doing so would defeat the purpose and role of concepting. Ok bye!

i think if you use genai for anything, even writing an email, you're both a moron and a huge baby, and i dont want to play your video game as a result. its not that hard!
As the backlash to generative AI in video games continues to pick up steam heading into 2026, it'll be fascinating to see what is considered "made with generative AI." Can a dev team say they're not using AI if they're writing design docs with Copilot or using chatGPT to make schedules and budgets?

Taken from a British WW2 poster, the original features a WW1 German soldier at the top. I just swapped it for the Nazi soldier it had at the bottom.

"the lootboxes are okay, they're just cosmetic"
"we USE ai, but our game wont CONTAIN it" is a clarification that no one has ever cared about & now CEOs are using it as a wedge to get their foot in the door as a part of a long term plan into normalizing AI, just like how 'it's just placeholder' was used with E33. dont cede even an inch of ground

1. this excuse sucks because the concept art isn't throwaway work it's meant to overshoot the depth of the final product so it can be scaled back.
and
2. if you're gonna steal for placeholders just download them or rip them from existing games. you're gonna get caught if you miss one either way
"look we're not using AI in the final product we're just using it to speed up the conceptual stage" is what a lot of dopes affecting an enlightened middle position keep saying. I truly do not get that one. You hate imagining stuff? You don't like thinking and conceptualizing? Get a grip

Swen's justification of his initial quote is hilarious in a very bleak way.

You can't "explore" ideas by using a machine that can do nothing but spit out what tou put into it. That simply isnt how that works.

Further, it doesn't save time if your art team has to re-do everything your machine does.
I don't think Larian's CEO understands how art is made:

These dipshits don’t realize that its not JUST the use of AI that’s the problem: its the erosion of trust. They can say “oh its just for placeholders.” Or “oh its just for pre production” too bad, we cant trust you. Once its used, Its pandora’s box. You can’t un-fuck this

At SNL I worked with artists who made the funniest, stupidest graphics in no time flat. Some of my biggest jokes would have been impossible without these geniuses building an insane image or finding the perfect real-life photo of a politician. Sucks that their work is being pushed aside for slop.
SNL used AI art tonight, multiple times.

Booooooo.

Tomorrow the 11th, there will be a markup on various "child safety" bills

This is part of the process where they are debated and amended before moving forward

It is a good idea to make some rep calls TODAY and make it clear which bills are currently unacceptable and why
#savespeech #stopKOSA

ATTENTION! The House of Energy and Commerce has pushed a package of(now 18) "child safety" bills to a subcommittee markup.

This means the bills will be likely voted on to go to a FULL committee markup, which sends it out to the House.

Call the Committee. Tell them to vote NO
