In South Minneapolis, Minnesota, nearly two dozen neighbors confronted and surrounded ICE goons after rapid-response alerts were issued. The goons were questioning an East African man when the situation escalated, and they eventually left the area without making any arrests.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

it will get papered over, but trump briefing johnson and thune but not schumer or jefferies is another example of congress having essentially given up on any pretense of oversight — this would not be in any way acceptable to republicans if the situation were reversed.

I cannot emphasize this enough that for YEARS:

-trans women played various women’s sports.

-trans kids got medical assistance as they and their parents needed.

-trans folk could get accurate documents.

-trans folk used the bathrooms that felt appropriate.

AND NOTHING BAD HAPPENED.

Bodily autonomy is a human right.

Transness isn't a disease that needs to be cured. We're a normal part of the spectrum that is the human condition. And we deserve to have the final say over our own bodies - not just because of the harm if we don't, but because they belong to us and not the state.

So, to be clear, Musk has now admitted he funded a man he believes to be a pedophile to be president.

And Trump has now admitted that he gave access to high level government secrets to a man he believes to be a big time drug addict.

This should be *the* story on the Sunday shows tomorrow.

Remember this when politicians say universal healthcare, or any other public good, is too expensive.
Stephen Miller’s stated current goal for ICE is 3,000 detentions per day, which is more than one million people per year.

The Republican bill being debated provides $75 BILLION in supplemental funding over four years for ICE to expand its interior detention and deportation operations.

Republicans inhabit a world of constantly shifting morality, constantly shifting truth.

Nothing actually means anything concrete, it's dog-whistles and symbolism and personality cults to the core.
I am certain that over the following weeks, we are going to see a truly appalling number of republican men outing themselves as pedophiles in an attempt to rapidly normalize it so as to protect dear leader. Pedocon theory may prove itself willingly, and it's going to be horrifying.
