NEW: It’s not just readers that suffer due to Harlequin’s mismanagement of the' Heated Rivalry' books. Reid misses out on royalties, & booksellers miss out on commissions—which is especially painful during the holiday season when many small businesses make the bulk of their money.
was ‘heated rivalry’ failed by its publisher?
everyone's devouring the new TV series, so why can't people buy a copy of the book the show is based on?

Trump said the boat strikes were about drugs. Now he seizes an oil tanker. What is this really about? Regime change. Whatever you think about Maduro, Trump has no authorization to start a war with Venezuela. Americans do not want another endless war.

We’ve created the perfect sickness storm because whether you have covid or not right now, whatever sickness you have is probably worse because Covid damaged your immune system or other organs. But still we do almost nothing to prevent or reduce multiple Covid infections.

The flu... "coming up" on CBC Metro Morning. They're going to talk about "why it's up".

I can tell you why -- or at least, in part. Because people have normalized going to school and daycare and work sick. They're not taking precautions. Clean air? No. Masking? No. Vaccination? No.

This. The problem isn't that someone gets a helping hand from their parents, it's that the helping hand is *needed*. There should be pathways into the arts for people of other backgrounds.
One thing that rankles with me - slightly - about nepo baby discourse, is that seemingly 90% of successful actors in the UK have a massive structural advantage simply from being born rich. To obsess over the 1% who also have famous parents as if THAT'S the problem, misses the forest for the trees.
Thing is as Nepo parent, you’re in a bind, you aren’t going to hinder your kids professional progress to make a political point. But surely you just say yes, their background helped.

I've been trying to plan a smol holiday for my partner & I for ages. We haven't had one in years. But all we're finding is too expensive and not accessible for us. It's exhausting just looking for a place to have a break and I wish more people talked about disabled holidays being hard to do.

The only thing more worrying than this regime's censorship and surveillance is the compliance of Meta and other quisling companies and institutions agreeing to this shit
"The takedowns and restrictions began in October and targeted the Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp accounts of more than 50 organisations worldwide ... in what appears to be a growing push by Meta to limit reproductive health and queer content across its platforms."
