Great thread. I have not read this book but do read a lot of romance and my hot reader and personal take is many people are completely disassociated from human interaction. They are living beings but living in phones, have no worldly experiences that are for singular joy and not content and 1/
Y'all this past week I've seen some baffling takes on Heated Rivalry by people who have zero knowledge or enjoyment of romance novels, romance narratives, or sex scenes as a storytelling device. "Uh where's the romance? Why are they boning so much???"

We can talk about the problematic exhalation of the Kennedy’s from a sociological historical place and agree that RFK should go no where for the rest of his life w/o being shamed. By his own admission ppl like his cousin simply didn’t do enough to prevent their cancer. She’s 35. May he rot in hell.

I think Ford possibly blundered into a good thing: forcing Mark Carney to see there is simply no deal to be had with Trump, and to get us pivoting away from the US with more seriousness, urgency, and comprehensiveness than whatever the hell he's been doing.
