One thing about my job is that when I deal with ultra-religious adults I can just ignore them, I don’t care to make them feel comfortable. But when a kid tells me their parent won’t let them watch a Disney movie because it teaches kids to disobey.

It seems to me that identity politics would be splitting people up into identity groups and making laws granting some groups fewer rights than others. The opposite of that is the assertion that all are equal under the law.

Hah yes this.
Some of the books I loved as a teen have really not held up, while others did and are clearly excellent.
But there were books I was also just not ready to read, and my opinions on them were a waste of space.
