NEW: Wisconsin Eye going offline is a disaster for transparency and public access to state government. Republican leadership enforcing antiquated rules is making a problematic situation a whole lot worse.

Let's recombobulate: www.therecombobulationarea.news/p/wisconsin-...
Wisconsin Eye is offline. State Republicans are making matters worse.
With the state's public affairs network down, GOP leadership in the state legislature are enforcing an antiquated ban on photographing, filming or recording what's happening in the state Capitol.

Based on my own reaction to this, I guess I'm "rooting" for Netflix? Ugh...
WBD's board unanimously rejects Paramount's amended $108.4B acquisition offer, saying the bid still has "significant" risks compared to Netflix's $83B offer (Lucas Manfredi/The Wrap)

I don't know if Canadian liberals realize just how badly a lot of liberal Americans needed to see Mark Carney win. I watched the debates for Christ sake. It was so important to me to know that after who we elected, there was still some sanity left in the world.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I get that people are suffering from food insecurity. I've donated and hope you do too to your local food assistance programs, but this is exactly how I feel about last night.
How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Not that I can, but if you can, you should.
Spotify is running ICE ads. I went to cancel on mobile and saw that this isn’t allowed on mobile. They make you cancel on desktop. You think that’s gonna stop me, Spotify? I will erase you and forget you ever existed.

THOU SHALT CANCEL SPOTIFY!!!

So far today, Chuck Schumer has said his strategy for preventing Trump sending troops into blue cities is to win over Republican senators (!) while Hakeem Jeffries praised Eric Adams's courage and authenticity (!!) while refusing to endorse Mamdani. Again.

These two gotta go.

The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.
