I don't know if Canadian liberals realize just how badly a lot of liberal Americans needed to see Mark Carney win. I watched the debates for Christ sake. It was so important to me to know that after who we elected, there was still some sanity left in the world.

I get that people are suffering from food insecurity. I've donated and hope you do too to your local food assistance programs, but this is exactly how I feel about last night.
How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

So far today, Chuck Schumer has said his strategy for preventing Trump sending troops into blue cities is to win over Republican senators (!) while Hakeem Jeffries praised Eric Adams's courage and authenticity (!!) while refusing to endorse Mamdani. Again.
