We are the richest country in the world. God forbid we ever act like it.
I dunno. I do like our government spending less money anywhere they can. I like even more if my taxes go down as a result. Since when is our job to be the world’s mom and dad? Did other countries step up to fill that gap?

I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

100% true. Stupidly.
Every-day liberals/leftists get mad at political scientists when we say we really do need a strong conservative party for society to function well.
And this is directly attributable to Trump's victory in 2016. Yet another in a seemingly endless list of ways letting him be president for 4 years and head of a major political party for 8 (and counting) have made our country and world worse off.

I think “safe” and “clean” are largely stand-ins for “no visibly unwell people” and “nobody playing annoying videos on their phones.” There’s not really a policy solution that transit can deploy here. There are larger social problems/annoyances that people kind of have to get over.
Sean Duffy: "If you're a Democrat, you're a liberal, you don't like cars and you want people to ride public transportation, I think that's wonderful, good for you. But if you want us all to ride public transportation, make it safe. Make it clean. Make is beautiful. I don't know why NY can't do that"

Really reminded of how rapacious 19th C imperialism was downstream of excess wealth looking for investment opportunities. PE is going to try devouring and destroying the economy until nothing good remains.
Lawyers and law schools are not at all prepared for what's coming: www.ft.com/content/2e36.... PE firms and their consultants are quite explicit about the goal--roll up practices the same way they have done in healthcare.
