White bros have tanked the economy OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. It's a testament to white supremacy that they continue to hold the power to do this.

we are not having a lot of luck with institutional pushback - everyone who does is fired and replaced

we are definitely not having any luck with “norms”

what we are having luck with is ordinary people looking at the incompetent bullshit put in front of them and going “absolutely not”

unironic use of the phrase "purity test" is the best way to signal to everyone that you're a selfish amoral piece of shit who would eagerly sacrifice any marginalized community you aren't part of in order to preserve your own comfort

Another way out: Hiding and obedience won't stop fascism

“When you’re…stepping over a guy on the sidewalk…does it ever occur to you to think, ‘Wow. Maybe our system doesn’t work?’”

One reason I don't think it's useful to argue about the correct tactics for Democrats to win elections is winning elections isn't enough. They've won the presidency 5 out of 9 times since 1992 and where are we now. The question is how we create something better than a dead cat bounce party

Imagine if when Democrats got in power they enacted policies so left wing that even in the most leftist districts only 15% supported it. It's hard to even think what that would be.

Forced collectivization of farms? Executing landlord? Even that might break the 15% barrier somewhere.
There is not a single congressional district in the U.S. where more than 15% of voters support cuts to SNAP, the federal program that provides food assistance to millions of low-income Americans.

The Department of Defense deemed a story about baseball hero and civil rights leader Jackie Robinson's time in the Army as "DEI" and deleted it.
