An administration driven by greed, cruelty, and frankly a sort of empty-hearted boredom. The death of innocents so they can beat their chests and line their already fat wallets.

Whatever comes next has to at least look like justice. We cannot just turn the page for the sake of one party’s comfort.

No idea how @diegoarguello.bsky.social wrangles together around 100 writers every year for this but he’s a superhero for doing it.

In here with some thoughts on Ball x Pit and the weirdness of a game’s best feature being letting you not play it.
this was 2025, as told by 91 writers across the world

U.S. plans to stop recommending most childhood vaccines, defer to doctors
The plan, which is not finalized, suggests children get fewer shots and shifts to a model telling parents to consult doctors to make their own vaccine choices.

I’d add on that the Darth Vader hallway scene might be the worst piece of fanservice in Disney Star Wars
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

I'm so sorry to be dunking on two separate dumb articles today but OH MY GOD

Genuinely an interesting article but I feel it’s really telling that most of the replies are “oh that explains why everyone else sucks at reading” and only one or two are like “oh that explains why I have trouble reading”

I’m very close to 100 short story rejections this year with no acceptances and it’s just wildly disheartening. Zero idea if I’ve improved or worsened as a writer, just a wave of red on submission grinder and nothing to show for it

The "true" ending of Hades II is a commentary on the cyclical nature of games. www.endlessmode.com/video-games/...

I mostly disagree with this article— Hades
2’s narrative issues to me have more to do with how the conflict is handled than tonal mismatches in setting— but it does make me think about how Hades compares to other Supergiant games, which feel more lived-in and meatier

It's a little concerning that I know two people in long distance, overseas relationships with plans to marry who are pretty blase about the difficulties of immigration, especially right now
Believe it or not, this is only the second most naive and clueless thing I've been told about the immigration system. Number one belongs to my own mother, who was so insulated by my dad that she actually asked me "can't I just bring a relative from Brazil to help me care for the house?"
They don't. I had a coworker go to Brazil, fall in love, and naively walk in to the consulate to try to get his GF a visa. When he got home I told him "that was the dumbest possible thing to do."

I mean as someone who's modded decent sized communities before, it's absolutely forced mods to take action before.
Harassing the mods into banning someone has never worked. And harassing people in general has never changed their mind.
