2008: Epstein is convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution

2018: Despite that conviction, [files indicate] he was invited by Rowling’s team - along with a guest of his choosing - to the Broadway opening of Harry Potter and the private after-party

Protecting women and children, is it?

All JK Rowling's talk about protecting women and children is such bs. It was always about hating trans people. She invited him to the Harry Potter Broadway opening in 2018. This was way after Epstein was convicted of soliciting sex from a minor.

Labour have sunk in the polls & no longer have enough support to beat Reform in the Gorton & Denton by-election or across the country. The Greens support continues rising, with people switching from Labour especially. Voting Labour in Gorton & Denton will let Reform in.

The main features of radical right parties are authoritarianism and nationalism (increasingly ethno-nationalism).

Irregular immigration can be an important part of their narrative but it doesn't need it to succeed.

Also evidence that essentially eliminating irregular immigration - as Australia has - doesn't, by itself, stop the radical right.

imagine the catastrophic damage Reform could do despite such a small amount of support from the electorate

Can’t believe Labour are briefing such a poor line, when an obvious response is “why is the party who blocked a local candidate from running because he’s midway through his political term calling a London Assembly member ‘chicken’ for not running to be MP of a constituency 160 miles from his home?”
A Labour spokesperson, responding to Zack Polanski’s interview with Laura Kuenssberg, said: "If [he] thought the Greens had a chance in Gorton and Denton he wouldn't have chickened out standing himself."

This is pretty weak IMO - Polanski is a serving London Assembly member and lives in Hackney...

It's also massively hypocritical but from gambling lobbyist Turley that's not surprising is it? Burnham cannot be allowed to stand because it would create a local govt vacancy. Polanski must stand or be a coward, despite it also creating a local govt vacancy. Pure Starmerismo, no plan just rakes.

The Guardian missing that Polanski's spokesperson has responded to Anna Turley by saying he's waiting for Keir Starmer to resign his seat is very funny.

Former Texas Lege reporter here. A Dem hasn't held this seat since 1990. Tarrant is the safest of red suburban counties. There is no way the TX and national GOP aren't in panic mode right now.
JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate.

Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.

With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.

Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.
