lgbtq and especially transgender people are one of the most solidly democratic demographics in the country. if they dont stand up for transgender people, then why should queer people show up to vote for a party that doesn't protect their interests?
We cannot preemptively and "pragmatically" kick our more vulnerable allies off of the plane. The end result will be having to face the fascists later on anyway but with a significantly diminished coalition.

For the trans people losing their jobs, being barred from federal facilities, kicked out of the military, and effectively losing the right to a public education, losing access to valid ID, and health care, and ending civil rights, the effects are catastrophic. Like, Germany inn 33-34 level of bad.
