Got called “carceral” for this which means it’s time to lay my favorite game: does this person not know the difference between civil and criminal law, or do they simply think that “carceral” is a magic word that delegitimizes all feminist resistance to sexual abuse?
These technologies can and are being used to create lifelike images and videos of actual living women and girls. For what I think are pretty obvious gendered civil rights reasons, it needs to be a recognized civil cause of action to create an AI image or avatar of a woman without her consent.

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.
We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

Indeed and it would probably behoove the pro-Israel bloc to ask themselves why, but they do not generally seem capable of reflection.
Most voters don't really care that much about foreign policy outside of US troops being involved, which means a minority that cares a lot can have outsize influence, and the minority that cares a lot on Israel/Palestine on the pro-Palestine side is overtaking the minority on the pro-Israel side.

frankly a very weird situation because it is also bridging on near totalizing conspiracy peddling. these people think the NYT is being actively misleading in calling Jewish supremacism a subset of Zionism when they themselves admit that's what Ben Gvir et al believe.
Over on Twitter a litany of Israeli Jewish and right wing American Jewish columnists are up in arms because the NYT Daily Podcast interviewed Raja Shehadeh, who dared to say the banal fact that there exists a state backed movement to impose religious supremacy over the entirety of the land
