Der Stürmer was Hitler’s favourite newspaper. It was filled with antisemitism, with a particular focus on semi pornographic accounts of Jews sexually assaulting ‘Aryan’ women.

Göring thought it was so insane he banned his staff from reading it

1/ This speech made by Farage in September 2014, after Russia's first invasion of Ukraine, is a stream of Russian propaganda lies that could have come from Lavrov's mouth.

The politics of migration have shifted so far to the extreme right, the Conservatives and Reform now have a more hardline policy on deporting legal British residents than... the British National Party did in 2005
jdportes.bsky.social
David is slightly unfair. There is a clear difference here.

Conservatives and Reform plan to forcibly expel large numbers of people who are legal, permanent residents of migrant origin. The BNP proposal is voluntary.

This below is from the 2005 BNP manifesto.

Spot the difference with current Tory and Reform policy.

If you have followed recently, I post about Lucy a lot. He is a Conservative to his core (much to my distress) and is a paid up member of the UK Conservative Party. I am not joking about that. He is also a fluffy black and white cat.

Fellow lawyers I am not sure whether Jenrick is still of good standing with the SRA but, if this happens, please consider reporting him to the regulator. This is completely unacceptable behaviour from a member of the profession.

We've already seen judges and lawyers being targeted as "enemies of the people". This increases risk of threats/attacks, while undermining judiciary as a whole. Couple it with Tory plans to scrap immigration tribunals and legal aid for people seeking asylum and it shows utter contempt for the law.

Conservatives/Reform are demanding we leave the ECHR again.

Here's the response Rishi Sunak got when he said he wanted to do the same thing.

Boos and shouts of "Shame".

Robert Jenrick, who just said he doesn't want to live in a country filled with non-white faces, begins his speech with a series of jokes suggesting that David Lammy is thick

1. ECHR is nothing to do with EU.

2. I’m sure the Right will love this rare political quote from the Queen.

It's got the smell of incitement.

Jenrick's "team have compiled and passed to the Telegraph a mega dossier of 35 judges he reckons have “pro-migration bias” — and he wants to sack ‘em all"

This is a Trump tribute act. Dangerous "enemy of the people" stuff here.

🚨🚨 "The ECHR is not some foreign imposition that curtails our sovereignty. It was born of British leadership after the horrors of the Second World War, drafted with heavy British influence, and championed by Winston Churchill himself". Great stuff by Sir Robert Buckland KC:

JFC the man has not one ounce of shame in him.

He went to private school and Cambridge. He owns three homes and rents a fourth!

I know plenty of politicians 'working classify' their backgrounds, but this from Jenrick is taking the piss.

His father's linked in is here: uk.linkedin.com/in/bill-jenr...

He was a managing accountant who ended up as the Managing Director of Cannon Industries

So, Honest Bob (private school and Cambridge) thinks he was sort of working class. Kemi thinks working in McDonald's made her working class. Are these people mad ???

Jenrick worked at Sullivan & Cromwell. They don't hire working class people.

On average, every 4 years, the ECHR stops the UK removing 1 foreign person.

They want you to demand we leave the ECHR because of this.

I've being saying "told you so" about Brexit for a decade. Don't let them do it to you again. Please listen this time.....

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

Fred Ramsdell was parked at a campground in Montana on Monday when his wife suddenly started shouting. He first thought that maybe she had seen a grizzly bear. Instead, she had regained cell service and had seen a flood of text messages with the same news. “You just won the Nobel Prize!” she yelled.
Winning a Nobel Prize Interrupted His Off-the-Grid Vacation
Fred Ramsdell found out about his Nobel Prize nearly 12 hours after it was announced because he was on vacation in the Rockies.

Your reminder that when you legal protections and due process get removed from one group, even one you may dislike, that sets a precedent for other groups to suffer the same.

Jenrick delivers one of the most asinine speeches I have ever heard. He even brought along a prop, to explain how a judge becomes impartial setting aside personal views, then went on to attack judges for having views. His solution? Abolish tribunals. And who will adjudicate cases? Pfft. Details. ~AA

There is a decency agenda absolutely in tune with majority feeling in the country that would be an open goal for the government if it wasn't also inclined to lurch towards an unpleasant space. Indeed it is one Keir Starmer could have personified if he could escape "Blue Labour" unpleasantness.

Wow. Robert Jenrick doubles down by branding a black journalist's questions "ridiculous" and saying that the problem is not his comments, but "journalists like you who pop up and try to knock me down", adding that "this is the reason why terrorist attacks happen". ~AA
