Musk deserves The Hague. Or shot into the Moon as a warning to all. I’m not picky.

Describing the reality of social networks and people generally as if it’s an essential part of Bluesky specifically: what could be more Bluesky than that.
BlueSky is fundamentally a low information network full of people who are not well connected to what is happening, do not have insider tips, are largely not capable of basic reasoning, do not value the truth over their immediate feelings, and habitually confabulate rather than admit they don't know.
The person trying to argue 50% of Americans are below the poverty line doing so while also failing to accurately perform basic math is basically bluesky.txt

Fuck John Podesta and his bullshit
A leading left-leaning think tank is urging more spending on police, the latest sign that many Democrats want to strike a tougher tone on crime, even as they condemn President Trump’s aggressive use of federal law enforcement.
Top Democratic groups urge party to shed soft-on-crime image, hire police
The Center for American Progress wants Democrats ‘on their front foot’ talking about crime, an issue where Republicans have long held the advantage.

Of all things GWB was, anti-immigrant wasn’t one of them. Though being anti-immigrant isn’t really a good fit for American politics more generally, and I don’t think that’s changed even with Trump.
how young is DHS? its first director was sworn in 23 years ago today. George W Bush gave remarks; immigration was not mentioned, other than a single reference to protecting “the border” under the banner of fighting terrorism (still a new-ish framing at the time)

I don’t know about the entire DHS, but definitely ICE and related entities wholesale. DHS somehow includes the Secret Service, Coast, FEMA, and more for some reason.
I look forward to the establishment of a Wiesenthal Center-like organization dedicated to identifying and hunting former DHS agents so that they may be held accountable.

According to an internal email to Washington Post sports staff, the paper isn't sending any reporters to cover the winter Olympics next month. The decision comes as major layoffs are expected in the coming weeks.

I’m curious how long it takes before they use the same threat against the states and cities themselves. I doubt long.

Awful as always but weirdly evasive. No praise at all in there.
Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?"

Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."

And there it is, the death of CDC guidance.
The CDC on Monday released new guidelines that dramatically cut down the number of childhood vaccines recommended by the federal government. Listen to "The Daily."
The R.F.K. Jr. Era of Childhood Vaccines
Federal health officials now recommend that children be routinely inoculated against 11 diseases, reduced from 17, citing standards in other wealthy nations.
