Weird how the Republicans scream about baby-killers when the topic is abortion, but when it's a change in healthcare policy that will literally kill actual babies, they're like *yeah, we're good with it"

The Bushes are patrician but they're oddly old-school patrician in that they very much want to preserve their illusion of connection to mundane society. It wasn't something they'd ever had to do for very long, but they could, plausibly, imagine A LITTLE BIT of what it's like.

Completely agree here.

That gaudy gold shit isn’t just for him. LOTS of MAGAs actually enjoy the aesthetic and think it’s proof of status and wealth.

My best and only idea is he’s an idiot’s idea of what success looks like. Aspirational for the worst instincts in people.

Here’s a piece of mine about Trump’s psychopathology that was published before the 2016 election:

They’re not impossible to understand if you’re familiar with malignant narcissism (which overlaps but is also very different from standard narcissism).

I’ve been writing about his psychopathology for a decade now and even predicting his behavior accurately on many occasions.

condemning him is one thing but i’m more just recognizing how truly bizarre his psychology is. not even normal among narcissists or whatever. an aberrantly reptilian point of view. some of the stuff he seems to flout it seems like he actually truly doesn’t ‘get’

The "piano guy" Is a personal friend of mine his name is Michael Diehl, he'd have to be about 80 years old now. He was like a father to me (I knew him well between the ages of 3-17)
And no, he did not kill himself.

He didn't go bankrupt but almost did (cuz those pianos were huge % of his year)

One such company was a small piano supplier for one of his hotels or casinos. The guy ended up going bankrupt and killing himself.
