These are good moments to remember that the CEOs of all the biggest companies in America are happy to go to White House dinners and slap this guy’s back. They do not care about this. Remember this, years from now, when they want you to forget.
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

"You cannot talk to God by trying to avoid doing something wrong." That's going to stay with me I think
In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

“You cannot learn or grow while trying to appear as if you have everything figured out. You cannot talk to God by trying to avoid doing something wrong. Perfection is stagnation,” the concert pianist Jonathan Bliss writes in a guest essay.
Opinion | A Classical Pianist’s Plea: Make Messy Art
It is not only classical musicians who are being stunted by the search for perfection. It is harming many aspects of our lives and sectors of our society.

The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

along with the heinous literal crimes i think a lot about how there's a kind of moral, national crime in subjecting all of us to this, to this consuming our politics, committed against us by a number of powerful and connected people up to and including the president

meanwhile american newskies are like "hi @chilis do you still have bb back ribs" and "here's a photo of my hamster" but it's a ferret

The Halloween party I went to was a model of the kinds of people I want to be around: all ages 79 years to 13 months, so many creative and fun costumes, interesting conversations, trans kids getting PhDs, autistic kids learning Spanish, I played Beyblade and had delicious chili.

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering
