Bonta: The Ninth Circuit refused to stay the order. And so, for the first time in six months, we have no National Guard deployed on the streets of California.

Popok: Have they been taken off the streets?

Bonta: They have. It was required as of, I believe, Monday.

This amp goes to 11.
FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you

LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times

F: Not a 600% cut

L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now

Crushing. Rob gave us so much laughter & joy. From the Smothers Brothers to "All in the Family" to wonderful movies ("Princess Bride, "Spinal Tap"). And he was a passionate progressive advocate—and a great guy, full of stories and enthusiasm, to spend time with. A horrific end to a horrific weekend.

Some of my best finds are when I go "browsing" with no idea what I was looking for.
Solid take, to which others added record stores, thrifting and reading newspapers as lost or fading influences.

FWIW, browsing isn't dead for me. I've long gone bumming around in record shops, book stores, comic book shops, vintage shops and antiques malls, plus channel surfing on TV and radio.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste

Detroit Lions great Lem Barney, who has died at 80, was one of the last surviving voices -- if not the last surviving voice -- heard on Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On." Barney and Lions teammate Mel Farr were among the backup singers in 1970. youtu.be/ApthDWoPMFQ?...

Today's #MealsonWheels visits took a detour. We have 2 volunteers named Peter, a substitute volunteer took my, Pete's, meal route instead of the other PeteR's. So I got to visit his folks.

At 1 visit I was greeted by these guys. Always something volunteering with #MealsonWheels. 😄
