Being a parent is such an embodied experience. You read, and you talk to people, and all that, and it's all useful, even essential, but you learn how to be a parent most of all by being physically present with, engaged with, connected to, your kid.

You, as a person. With your specific kid.

I talk about Giselle like she’s really my cousin, bc she is. We’ve been doing this too long to not be family at this point. She’s like that cousin that brings their mixtapes to the repass. If you don’t get your raggedy ass tf on. Always selling some shit!

Years later I still cannot believe that people say "woke" in all the ways they do. Pure case study in getting linguistically dog-walked by a mixture of conservatism and appropriation

👇🎯 Unfortunately, this is true & probably the only way. Voters need to realize that hating government, & illegally defunding & dismantling it, & pretending that we can run a modern society/economy on Ronald Reagan's shabby talking point & worn copies of Atlas Shrugged & Mein Kampf is untenable.
Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

They robbed me of $20,000!!
So far my major takeaway from the Supreme Court tariffs oral argument is that the liberal justices are still so, so mad about the Biden student debt decision

The actual finding here is that a huge percentage of the population believes things that are not true. Democrats objectively did not spend significant time on climate change or LGBTQ issues in the last election campaign.
Duh. Those of us on the ground last year actually speaking with middle class/working class voters and who heard from these voters every single day the same - “Trump is an asshole, but Democrats are out of touch” - could’ve saved my new political party a lot of time & money producing this “report.”👇

Dems might be able to eke out narrow victories with current leaders, but we need 1930s style landslide Congressional victories that last a generation or two. That requires new leaders. Voters don’t trust the ones there.

Another quintessential Beyoncé/DC song that has that same “unseriousness yet fierceness” is Jumpin Jumpin. Like, she is singing the hell out of a song that is about going to the club.

If I had to pick one that showed all facets of Beyoncé, I would pick 7/11.

my girl was rap singing and going on that track. You can hear the unseriousness yet fierceness in her voice. That silliness and whimsy is what made me fall in love with Bey.

There are many, but one I never here folks say is the transition to the bridge in “Love” by Destiny’s Child (~2:12-2:22). The harmonies are sublime
8. What moments in a Beyoncé song like a beat drop, vocal run, or harmony that really scratch that inch in your brain?
