Shattered Sword. Really heavy, really in-depth, and really revealing. Need to look at the subsequent campaigns in the Pacific War and how Japanese naval strength was whittled down.

I remember reading that in WW2, destroyers turned out to be more useful than battleships at the naval shore fire that Trumpists keep claiming that battleships will be so good at. Destroyers could get closer in and take greater risks.

My father has been playing Breath of the Wild on and off for like the past 7 years, and I just found out that he just beat all the Divine Beasts. He has at least 400 hours in this game.

My interpretation of Hanania is that he hates black people...and *only* black people. He has no truck with Latinos, Jews, Indians, and so on. And so he is sadly enough less racist than a groyper GOP that wants to hate everyone who isn't a white male.

So as someone in education, I'm surprised by the hand-wringing around 6-7.
It's a stupid meaningless meme, and we said stupid shit when we were kids too. Saying that is an improvement over the racist and sexist shit that one can hear even little kids saying now ("that's gay" has come back)

I think in the case of No Kings the broad goal is clear enough: Trump out, the Constitution followed, Stephen Miller in jail, etc.
The lack of a goal absolutely DID undermine the George Floyd protests, though. The real enduring legacy of the Civil Rights movement was that it secured legislation

The missing piece here is the putative goal. The CRM targeted elite and mass persuasion for specific remedies to specific economic and social problems which legislation could address. No Kings is about 1) highlighting Trump’s abuse of power to make him less popular & 2) increase D vote next year.
