The rule of law presupposes that there are rules that provide a consistent, repeatable, and knowable set of outcomes. That’s no longer the case.

Structural. Citizens United was a lever to pry up the very roots of informed self-governance. Dark money has purchased everything from our most elemental journalistic enterprises and political parties to state and national legislatures and our highest courts. Follow the fucking money. Pay attention.
He is indeed, as Mr. Simon tells us, the result and not the cause. But the cause isn’t “greedy businessmen” but a nation in love with amoral men of zero character. Many people love and admire Trump and our tech overlords more than they love themselves or their neighbors. The sickness is cultural.
Beginning four more years of misrule, it's necessary to admit Trump is the result, not the cause. Massed capital has purchased and debauched our information systems, judiciary and electoral process. It is collapsing public education. Lincoln was a naif: Greed can fool enough people all of the time.

It's pretty telling that the #FBI will investigate this Christian sect (apnews.com/article/chri...) but won't seriously investigate #peopleofpraise when all it would take is a warrant for sexual abuse records from POP's own lawn firm... I guess it pays to be politically connected

It is no secret that the People of Praise cult leaders encouraged women to forgo contraception and have large families because the cult was against abortion and openly sought to outbreed perceived enemies.
