The internet sucks now because everything needs to result in the maximal outcome so instead of seeing the Coldplay couple and going “lol pretty funny” we end up with this, everything is Qanon, everything is the Inquisition, when the fun of it should be “well, never have to think about this again!”
It was a perfect viral moment, a 5 second video snippet that appeared to tell an entire story. Then the country got way, way, way too invested.

yeah imagine a world where:
- the rich get better healthcare than everyone else
- coverage is determined by actors you don't trust
- you have to get a referral before you see a specialist
For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates.

What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ?

Who in the USA gov runs the program?

R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

I was disadvantaged in the duel as I had sold my pistols to buy a comb for my wife's beautiful hair. But as we turned on the count of ten, I saw she had shaved her head so loose hair would not interfere with her deadly bald aim.

Approximately 75% of households on the Upper West Side are car-free. Plus, 13,000 parking spaces in a neighborhood that's home to about 214,000 residents is nothing. This is an elected official listening to a loud and entitled minority and prioritizing the storage of private cars over public safety.
UWS Council Member Gale Brewer changed her mind on the daylighting bill after DOT officials projected that the street safety initiatives would remove 13,000 parking spaces per district — double the 6,500 avg. spots that DOT officials previously estimated under oath in April.
Gale's A-Blowin': Brewer Abandons Daylighting Bill After Push By Parking-First DOT - Streetsblog New York City
DOT's anti-daylighting "scare tactics" have peeled off Council Member Gale Brewer, who says the policy will gobble up too many parking spots.

I was walking down a street in New York and I thought how lovely it was, with the trees and the light. Tried to take a photo and this came out. It’s incredible how blind we become to the ugliness of cars. They really do mess things up. Yet somehow we manage to filter them out.

The eye exam is the perfect game design. That big E is a great tutorial that teaches you the basic mechanic. But it doesn't baby you and quickly gets hard as they introduce the small and blurry enemies.

This intersection was a dangerous mess of parking and blocked crosswalks. In summer 2023 @nyc-dot.bsky.social pedestrianized it and removed cars.

Its most recent use? Serving as a pop up lunch kitchen for local construction crews. I’ll take fresh cooked chicken over illegally parked SUVs any day!
