And what EU resolution must be directed towards is Trump's vanity. He will sacrifice all of us for his selfish lusts; it doesn't matter which of you lights the pyre. Measures that get his attention, that target him and thwart him *personally* are what have a prayer of working right now.

This is literally what I've been writing and podcasting about for years. I was planning to do an essay on this, but here's a 🧵.

The main reason is psychology. Due to personal, family, and cultural histories, some people are inherently scared of the world.
Fight and help win a world war.

Establish a global order that cements your national power for 80 years.

Blow it all up.

What am I missing?

TL;DR it’s bad science. I don’t mean morally bad although it’s that too. I mean she elevates, promotes, and engages in poor scientific practice to get the result she wants.
So Emma Hilton is now the interim chair of Sex Matters.

Let’s check out some of the Sex Science that she’s famous for
FOI reveals that within the first week in office, Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson requested a meeting with Sex Matters to discuss "mutual priorities and ways to work together going forward"

I don’t think Rollins and her ilk allow each other to eat tortillas
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

Laura Jedeed on applying for a job with ICE: "I expected them to Google me, and they didn't ... they sent me a final job offer ... what's disturbing is we don't know who is wearing these masks with guns in our city. We don't know if they have domestic violence convictions."

Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

As it happens, I have experience with high-level government demands to stop an explosive, accurate story from running, and I also have experience with 60 Minutes spiking a story I was involved in, so I have thoughts about the travesty at CBS. If you want some journalism anecdotes, here are a lot:
Watching Bari Weiss Murder Investigative Journalism at CBS
Notes from someone who's withstood White House demands to stop an explosive story—and who once even had a 60 Minutes piece spiked

As with a lot of things perceived as “getting worse,” I have my doubts that families are getting estranged at much higher rates than before. It’s just more visible and more explicit. Time was Uncle Charlie would just move to the Everglades and nobody would ever hear from him again.
Yeah, no thanks.

Stop guilting people about being estranged from family members. It someone is they likely have personal reasons for being so.

General strikes don't guarantee anything, nothing does, but they can and have created MAJOR WINS.

Real ones. BIG ones.

Ideally, a strike is part of a larger strategy of other actions-- cross-society, a range of tactics, sustained with discipline over time.

THAT'S how we'll win.

We can.

There’s a lot here to think about, and I will, later.
I'm surprised how many people are quick to make a defense of violence in my replies. For them it's necessary, foreclosing on its use is a privilege. For me, non-violence is a powerful tool. It is the lesson of one of my heroes, Bayard Rustin. 1/ wagingnonviolence.org/2022/08/reme...
