I just got a batch of internal CBC emails about the Cross-Country Checkup episode (yes, that one).
The thing that stands out is that they knew how mad people were — they received more than a thousand emails, plus the social media pile-on — and yet there is zero self-reflection.

The Community Agreement for #BlackZineFair was taped at the entrances to the tabling space on the 3rd Fl at Powerhouse Arts. Like last year, Black folks were the great majority at the zine fair. Unlike last year, I didn’t have to wait in line to get in. Inside, I ran into people I knew. #zines #NYC

The framing is wrong, plain and simple. The way the conversation is packaged legitimizes a question every one of your Canadian viewers finds abhorrent (and illegitimate).
