This just in: most women (most people, really, but most women for sure) don't want to be chums with people who try to literally murder them and their co-workers.
Well... yeah.

Since we have several Cyber trucks in the neighborhood, the experience I witnessed with elementary kids and a ct were them talking about how ugly it was and then spraying it with silly string. I gave them a WTF look since they apparently didn't even care who saw this. Then walked on.
They're supposed to make emotionally underdeveloped 8-year-olds say "cool!", right?

All other considerations are secondary at best

I go through the same mental fight every night: I know I will get out there and enjoy my 3 mile walk, if only I can get my butt off this chair.

I read this list for myself and went oh, I didn't know fire extinguishers have expiration dates. Now, how do you get rid of expired fire extinguishers?
🧵Helpful things to do while visiting your parents this holiday season:

- Change their remote, smoke alarm, & flashlight batteries

- Make sure they're logged into all apps on their phone, Roku, etc

- Turn off the motion smoothing setting on their TV

- Check the fire extinguisher expiration date

Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @reuters.com

Nobody wants to know where my can opener has been, or what it has opened.

I can't even answer that.
It took both my wife and my mother-in-law almost ten minutes to eventually figure out how to open one (1) can.

My mother, in contrast, simply has a can opener from, like, 1987 that has lost all cutting ability.

I think this was the most fascinating novel I read in 2025. Highly recommend.

Death of the Author by @nnedi.bsky.social

Zelu's mother was a Yoruba princess, her father is Igbo with a PhD. She is paraplegic, flawed, sassy, hard-working, & an author, writing robots into a complex world of death, circuits, energy & what it means to be human.

"Since they are Canadian, I would not rule out treachery" is such a hilarious line because it is in fact 100% backwards.

You can't be a traitor to a country you're not from??????
The Atlantic suggesting, without evidence, that Canada's Global TV broadcasting the '60 Minutes' segment on CECOT that CBS distributed to it may have been an act of "treachery."

So the not-quite-kid and I have decided that we are going to make: gingerbread cookies, cheesecake brownies, and raspberry stars. I just need to go to the grocery because the only thing I bake usually is bread, and apparently all I have at the moment is flour, a little bit of sugar, and yeast 🤣

I really do not care if the guy who has raped kids is from my political party. My moral philosophy is that you don't rape kids, and there is nothing you can do that earns you a get-out-of-raping-kids-free card.

Obviously this is someone who has never been in a never renovated bowling alley that predates the ban on indoor smoking. My kid was like "mom, why does it smell so terrible in here?"
this is a good reminder of how things that are shitty but have been accepted as normal and inevitable can actually turn out to be abnormal and evitable with some science, time, education and political will

How I cook dinner sometimes: I want a glass of wine now. What can I make to justify opening wine now? Beef stew in the instant pot! 25 minutes later, beef stew with partly frozen beef and all the dying veggies from the fridge is sealed into the instant pot, and I have a glass of wine.

And shingles isn't even something you can avoid by avoiding sick people, it's about your immune system saying oh fuck you.
If you hate the shingles vaccine, I can’t begin to tell you how much more you’re gonna hate shingles.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

This is absolutely correct. Almost every artist I know is DROWNING in ideas. The issue is in executing the ideas.
& this nonsense that whomever has “the most ideas the fastest” is “the most creative” is ridic. There’s ppl with 1,000 ideas for paintings yet will never paint The Starry Night. An idea and $2.90 will get you a ride on the subway in NYC.

Artistry isn’t solely manufacturing ideas. It’s the process.
