Tear gas is an abortifacient??

You might think that would make them slightly less comfortable with slinging it around at women of a certain age. 🧐🤔🫠
My "What You Need To Know About Tear Gas" thread:

First, tear gas is a particulate, not an actual vapor or gas. In some cases, this means you can get some of the tear gas off your clothes by standing in a stiff breeze or strong fan.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

I want more local artists to have their prints on greeting cards (preferably blank ones), just for me, because I love them.

🤷🏻‍♀️

Wouldn't it be nice though? Just an art print on cardstock, blank inside? I write whatever tf I want inside. Send nice things to a friend or yelling words to a senator.

Kidnapping a minor US citizen from a Target, physically assaulting him, and then dumping him in a parking lot miles away is not a training issue. "Better training" doesn't fix that. At a certain point, even the most moderate Dems need to understand that it is a policy of terrorizing minorities.

I got a massage for the first time in a long time and the masseuse went into (the shell of) my ear (with my consent!) and who knew ears held so much tension?? It's all cartilage in there, innit?

Anyway. Amazing, 11/10, I look forward to going back.

Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

I have nowhere near the emotional stability to be making anything that could be recognized as a resolution right now.

I am going into 2026 begging for nothing catastrophic to happen in my personal or professional life. Everything else is icing.

My ex texted me Happy New Year. I sobbed for like 20 minutes.

It's been almost half a year, when will my brain finally get its shit together.

(That's my 2026 plea.)

At the start of January 2025, life was looking up. Most of the rest of 2025 was shit. 2026: Be better. Please.
