Child in the 60’s, teen in the 70’s, I'm heartbroken we've fallen so far short of the dream. A queer person on a lifetime quest to find someplace I belong, always wondering if I should just keep on moving. Thanks for letting me be here for a while.

Bigotry against trans athletes was always going to be approved by SCOTUS and yesterday's arguments left no doubt.
But what starts on the field never stays on the field. Republicans are testing the waters for new victims of their cruelty.

The Supreme Court Just Held an Anti-Trans Hatefest
The court’s hearing on state bans on trans athletes in women’s sports was not a serious legal exercise. It was bigotry masquerading as law.

I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

A lawyer who helped lead Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election was also heavily involved in lawsuits seeking to ban trans women from sports.

@billiejsweeney.bsky.social took a deep look at the strategies and coordination behind sports bans in one of our most read pieces this year.

In August, we got a bit of extra money from a generous donor, and I used it to expand into coverage of trans life in American prisons.

This piece, by incarcerated journalist B Speaks, describes the chaos Georgia's forced detransition regime, currently halted by the courts, wreaked in one prison.

a lot of people debating the merits of that dogshit essay meanwhile the girl’s mom is retweeting demands to ban all trans people from teaching at any level. it’s forest for the trees shit

So a big part of the Project 2025 goals hinges on forcing women out of the workforce. The Heritage Foundation knows that women voters hold the most power in terms of sheer numbers. If they can push you out of the workforce, they can push you out of your voting rights.
Digging into the data of what's taking place with Black women unemployment and this graph is pretty damning.

You can see the EXACT month Black women's unemployment begins to splinter and that what hit us FIRST is now coming for all other women. This is #TheDoubleTax.

When MeToo happened it was cool to come out of the silence society enforces on survivors & wake everybody up to how many of us are out there & how endemic sexual abuse is. But focus was abuse by the powerful, not us who get raped by a nobody. And we saw only the smallest ripple, abusers still win.
