I knit, I read, I sew. I've tried most textile crafts and am even half way competent at some not listed. Not tatting though or lace.

I cosplay. I read fanfic. In fact I will read almost anything.

I have been productive today! I have sewn in approximately 349,834,609,867,048,573,875 ends on several different projects (that may be a tiny exaggeration admittedly) and also blocked a knitted thing and got another knitted thing ready to block. Cast on a baby hat for a baby due January.

In anticipation of visitors, I need to scrub floors. Himself's state of health means the floors are, sadly, my responsibility. Bribing myself with the possibility of starting the next AK Faulkner book, Runes of Fall. Will the trauma that contains be more or less than cleaning the bathroom floor...?

Finished all the knitting on the cardigan, so now I've switched to socks, for me. I do love the stitch pattern this produces. Pattern is H's everyday sock, named by me Hermina's everyday sock after my grandmother, who used to test patterns for Patons and Baldwin. Yarn is Stylecraft Head over Heels.

This.

Measles is incredibly infectious. If 1 kid in a kindergarten is infected, by the end of the day pretty much every un- or under-vaccinated classmate will be too.

Measles can be deadly & some complications can kill years later, but just an ordinary case is miserable. Why let your kid suffer?

worth noting the MMR scare was specifically because Andrew Wakefield wanted to sell a different vaccine - but went with it when everyone started going antivaxx completely.
one of many parallels between anti-vaxxers & those who oppose gender-affirming care: they start by pretending they have a very specific concern (MMR vaccine, puberty blockers, etc), but once given any sway or say on the matter, they quickly strive to eliminate all of it
Kennedy's zombie ACIP panel just voted to restrict hepatitis B vaccine for newborns. Experts say it will harm children for no reason. www.ms.now/news/rfk-cdc...

ACIP member Dr. Cody Meissner:

"'Do no harm' is a moral imperative. We are doing harm by changing this wording. And I vote no."

All welcome! (It's free and online!)

What a great day to buy the book (or indeed, any of Arden's books! My faves are 'The Bayou' and 'In the Pit of Your Stomach')
I got hit with an unexpected $200 expense today! I need to buy software to keep my new freelance job. It would be amazing to sell some books or get some new patrons to help cover it 😬

He’s also the second of the 7 who received stem cells that were not actually resistant to the virus, strengthening the case that HIV-resistant cells may not be necessary for an HIV cure.
