If there only was a word for a governing system in which one set of laws applied to people of a specific race, and a completely different and much harsher set of laws applied to those of another race...

Pretty audacious calling Polanski's approach insane whilst continuing to defend the 'trickle down' economic status quo, which has failed the average working person since the dawn of time
The country wants a wealth tax on assets.

They're panicking because "won't the rich just leave" has been utterly debunked.

They've got no actual argument.

COP30 overpromised, underdelivered, empowered distractions, backtracked on issues and once again gave big oil and big ag a free pass.

Unfortunately, the suspicions of climate scientists (here in Brazil and abroad) were confirmed again.

Finally something news worthy happening at COP30.
The UN climate change conference (COP30) having rooms shut down both to flooding and an extreme fire is a bit metaphorically excessive.
🚨If you are at #COP30, evacuate the Blue Zone immediately.

Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.

Overshooting 1.5°C wasn't 'inevitable.'

We've been pushed by fossil fuel giants & governments that pander to them.

Every delay, every oil field, every broken promise made this crisis worse.

Keir Starmer, will you promise to leave Rosebank undeveloped?

"weirdo” “ridiculous” - these are the playground taunts when you have no political arguments left to make.

And just like playground bullies, they come from a place of fear. Because they can see us organising and they don’t know how to respond.

The silence of the Westminster lobby as one of their own backs calls for me — an elected Member of Parliament — to be deported is telling.

No condemnation, just bootlicking of their proprietors and jostling for Zone 2 dinner party invites.

Our media class is rotten to the core.

Maybe we should rename “urinal cakes” too. Wouldn’t want the MPs voting in favour of this to get confused and eat one as dessert.

NEW: Apple said it "can no longer" offer iCloud end-to-end encryption in the UK, and turned off the option to enable it for new users in the country.

The unprecedented move comes after the British government demanded a backdoor into Apple's cloud service.

Breaking: The Romanian Constitutional Court has annulled the first round of the presidential elections. This means the elections will have to be redone from scratch, including the re-registration of the candidates, validation by the BEC and will be repeated once the government sets a new date.
So as expected, the Constitutional Court has postponed its decision on whether to validate the elections to 17:00 on Monday (Dec 2). In the meantime, voter recounts are underway across the country, despite criticism of the move from even anti-Georgescu voices such as Lasconi’s USR party.
