If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

I told chat at the start of stream that we weren't going to acknowledge anyone coming into stream to be shitty about the game.

I don't want gotcha moments like this, I'm not saying he did it for the clip.

But I'm glad someone who looks like this is saying it since gamers might even pay attention.
Perhaps the Gamers are alright

The people who need to understand that the DEI initiatives they hate so much were designed precisely because stuff like this has happened for decades, never will. Their belief that under- or unqualified white guys are inherently "better" than women or POC is the entire basis for their world view.
Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story.

Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver.

This is what "merit" means to them.

Great thread, and a good "how-to" about using privilege.
I went to see a really good band tonight. Great musicians.

Right up until they played Dixie for their closing number.

"This one's for two of my great-great grandfathers."

I walked out.

Just a reminder that fascists, authoritarians, dictators of all stripes destroy archives— books, museums, databases, &c— because those things provide windows onto a plurality of other ways we might organize the world.

And so preserving, defending, and spreading that knowledge harms those regimes.

Posting threats to people or agencies is bad. Pointing out unconstitutional actions, calling for judicial oversight, and insisting on protection of everyone's civil rights is not, and should fall within the ambit of the First Amendment.

I've actually been thinking of switching phone services, and was considering T-Mobile, @tmobilesupport.bsky.social. That's until I learned they're partnering with Edolf Muskler's satellite company (which I won't publicize here). Won't consider them now, under any circumstances.

Edolf Muskler knows exactly what he's doing, and, as usual, doesn't care who or what gets hurt while he does it.
Elon Musk, the world's richest man, is securing real beneifits as he helps Trump disrupt the federal government. Just how? The NYT takes a deep look today at these benefits: federal investigations targeting Musk companies that have been disrupted or now may die.

This is an entirely possible scenario. However, it is also possible that, if the Democrats are able to re-take Congressional majorities and the White House, they can pass a Judicial Reform Bill. This could fix a lot, including the number of Justices, term limits, and ethics rules. But will they?
Recall telling some purist-left friends this in 2016, when they refused to vote for Dems until they passed the kind of messianic, filibuster-proof climate legislation that will have appeared 20 years too late if it even sees judicial review in post-EPA federal courts.
