Same goes for public schools, colleges, and universities.
the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

I think this is a very insightful statement about what we call "AI" and will be chewing on it for a while
The fact that human language can be broken down on a mathematical level like this to such an extent, WITHOUT building a genuinely thinking mind behind it, is an immense and deeply unexpected discovery about language and cognition.
This is something that shouldn’t be possible, and now it is.
