From 2000 to 2020 the Venezuelan regime spent ~$30–$40B in defense, with ~$1.5–$3.0B in anti air and fighter jet capabilities, evidently, a useless use of public funds. A paper tiger if I ever saw one.

A fire broke out at a pavilion inside the COP30 global climate summit in Belém, Brazil, on Thursday. It is the latest in a series of mishaps for the annual conference this year. nyti.ms/43Iej2X

The quantum race isn’t just about qubits. It’s about what keeps them cold, powered, and pure. The second piece in our series examines the supply chains that decide who will build the future.

Netanyahu's attack on Iran is about sparking regime change with just enough strikes on nuclear facilities to frame it as an act of preemptive self-defense. I doubt this will turn out well. My latest in @ForeignPolicy.

Good point, the Typhoon looks like a very good option right now.
Ending support of US military equipment raises the question...why buy US military equipment. For decades, there was an implicit assumption that it bound the US to your security establishment i.e. you locked in US goods and received US services. This will reverberate way beyond Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump's team has ordered the termination of vital support for F-16 fighter jet jamming equipment that Ukraine has. What is important to understand is that this could deprive the Ukrainian Air Force of its most important air countermeasures.
