Beautiful!
This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

I stand with my classmate, & just ended about 25 straight years of (small, but still) monthly giving, and tossed the money to PBS, clearly far more worthy and in need of it, instead.

Faculty voted nearly unanimiously to not cave & the school did.

You know who made my experience there?

Faculty.
I’m disgusted with my alma mater, which is behaving contrary to everything I learned while getting my master’s degree from Medill, their once lauded journalism school. I hope Ken Towers’s ghost haunts these spineless administrators.

Agree on pretty much all here. Plus that Mitchell needs to be starting. #sjubb has historically, no matter players or coach, been a horrible first-5 mins team. Put your best guys out to start & he’s core 3 of this team IMHO w/ Zuby/BH on D alone.
Late game: BH, ZE off-ball, & if a 3 OzS 1st choice.
A thread on the state of the Johnnies as we head into the final stretch of the OOC:

St. John’s is currently 15th at Torvik and 18th at kenpom. Started with a preseason AP rank of 5, but may fall out completely this week.

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Why *does* the mayor of Subway City always end up in the back of a Suburban? There are good reasons: Security, productivity, travel to non-Manhattan destinations. And a bad reason: Habit.

Today I learned (thanks, NPR) that from 1875 to 1975, there were more than 6,000 commercial shipwrecks on the Great Lakes. The publicity of song led to safety standard changes and there has not been a single commercial wreck since then.

My suggestion for everyone with the TouchTunes app is play this around 7:15 tonight. You don't even have to be at the bar. If you're just sitting at home play it at the nearest place to you.

Fun read, and worth it to see the NYT headline offered that day on the same story, which I had never seen but is absolutely [chef’s kiss]!
It’s rare that a headline outlasts the person who wrote it. But long after Bill Brink’s father had died, “Ford to City: Drop Dead” endures in the national consciousness.
