I love cows.
I witnessed the cow in the hat, Jefe, make a tool. he couldn't scratch the right spot, so he broke a branch off of a tree with his horns, then wedged it in between trunks and made a custom back scratcher.

I posted a crop of this the other day, but I wasn't even aware of the original. I think this may be even cooler. I want a print at the biggest feasible size that still keeps the details clear. It's freaking stunning.
Space photographer Andrew James McCarthy @ajamesmccarthy.bsky.social has captured many epic images of celestial bodies, but this may be his greatest: a perfectly timed photo of a skydiving friend with the sun behind him (shot w/ equipment revealing great solar detail).

Behold "The Fall of Icarus."

On @jeopardyofficial.bsky.social, to a question on which band Joey Santiago plays guitar for, Harrison correctly replied, "Pixies." And my pedantic little editing- and music-nerd heart was gladdened, for he left off the definite article.

Attention to detail wins you games, cash, and honor.

I have owned "Second Coming" on CD almost since it came out. I love "I Am The Resurrection" and "I Wanna Be Adored," and played them on my radio show 20-plus years ago. How, then, have I never sat down and listened to the Stone Roses' whole first album? Damn, this is good.

Soon I discovered that this rock thing was true. Jerry Lee Lewis was the devil. Jesus was an architect previous to his career as a prophet. All of a sudden I found myself in love with the world, so there was only one thing that could do was ding a ding dang my dang a long ling long.

I am so sad to hear of Mani's death, so many of my favourite Stone Roses songs are bass-heavy and for me Mani will always be the best. Do yourself a favour and listen/relisten to these today:

Fools Gold
I Am the Resurrection
Waterfall
I Wanna Be Adored
Made of Stone
Elephant Stone

I am watching "Blow-Up" by Michelangelo Antonioni for the first time. I had to pause it because Herbie Hancock's score just jumped out at me: "Groove Is In The Heart" by Deee-Lite lifted that bassline straight from the first studio scene. I love these little "Oh, dang, I get the quote now!" moments.
