It's bad enough that Trump ordered to strike Venezuelan boats without showing evidence of any crime and Vance "[doesn't] give a sh*t." The elected officials appear to not care about murder when it isn't people they care about.

I want to be clear on this: the reason for the unrest in LA is these are LEGAL immigrants who are doing EXACTLY what they are supposed to by going to ICE check ins that many have been doing for years, and seeing them getting rounded up including at naturalization preparations.

I visited the public defender office in Jackson in February. Horrifying as this case is, it isn't unusual. PDs say prosecutors routinely withhold discovery, dragging out meritless cases for months or years. When judges finally force their hand, they drop the charges, sometimes the day of trial.

I understand the sentiment. At the same time, you *really* should be checking in on your local school board meetings. I live in the SF Bay Area and there is heavy spending on police and other shenanigans going on even after the failures in Uvalde.
