Product designer living and working in Vienna. Kicked PDF SDK UI standards up a notch, improved regulated software development tools, helped friends create Audio Plugins and Synths and drew hundreds and hundreds of icons in the process.
Pinned
Stuff I worked on as a counterbalance to my last job (B2B SaaS for regulated software development yada yada).

Now gonna have to find a real job again, in case anyone needs help with complex B2B apps. Prolly means less colors at my disposal.

Ah well. 😄

Back to playing around with three JS, having a lot of fun. If you've never given it a try go for it. Frontend but not the usual DOM etc. Web GL and canvas are a whole other thing. You never know when you might want something in 3d either so good skill to have passing familiarity with (like SVG)

I know at a case where an AI/Agentic AI pivot (in large part) cost the company its UL Certification marks (that they used to sell the product).

You can’t do proper risk management for GenAI tools.

And regulated industries need their risk managed _properly_.

AI churn has IT rebuilding tech stacks every 90 days
IT leaders can’t settle on AI toolchains due to a fast-evolving ecosystem, confusion over product offerings, and dissatisfaction with available components.

It‘s really fascinating given the whole debate about alleged restrictions to free speech in Europe, that while 59% of Germans say they are free or extremely free to express their opinion, even if unpopular, 61% of Germans think people *in the US* are not too free or not at all free to do so.

i strongly, strongly believe that good writing is downstream of clear thinking and a strong understanding of the subject matter at hand. without fail, tortured writing comes from writers who don’t know and can’t think clearly about anything.
Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

That executives still haven't figured this out is a testament to the Peter Principle
Gen Z is spending more on essentials than previous generations, yet their wages aren't keeping up.

It's no wonder they aren't "spending like retailers need them to."

When 70% of the economy depends on consumer spending, people need money to spend. It's as simple as that.

Western politicians, 5-10 years from now, in all likelihood: “If only someone told us that before. Someone we could trust to know what russia actually wants. Someone on the inside.“
No matter how often it is repeated, what Moscow thinks "peace talks" and "ceasefire agreements" are for still confuses some Western counterparts.

Russia repeatedly gets what it wants because the other side focuses on ending the war, but Russia instead wants to win it.

Or do I have to be the someone?
