Global TV has the rights to air "60 Minutes" in Canada. Networks like CBS sometimes deliver taped shows to affiliates like Global TV ahead of time. That appears to be what happened here: Friday's finished version of "60 Minutes" was digitally shipped up north.

And now someone has uploaded a version that wasn't filmed off a TV.

There's also the torrent link there, which is probably the fastest way to download the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT if you want to save the file locally to your computer.

It's not every day that public power makes the NYT, but I have a feeling it's going to happen again and again. Corporate utilities pushed us apart & into crisis, and it's going to take something new to bring us back together & get us out.
Without public ownership, we won’t address energy affordability and we won’t get our aging grid to the 21st century. Our bill to replace Central Hudson Gas & Electric will start saving millions in Year 1!

Read about it in the NY Times.

Why is calling someone "ordinary" an insult, when by definition that's what most of us are? When did we start conflating "ordinary" with "failure"? I explore that, and as well as the work of a famous and controversial memoirist, in this piece.

If you want to help small businesses this holiday season, the best thing you can do for them is pay in cash. Credit card companies charge stores around 2 or 3% per transaction. When you pay in cash, Chase Bank and BoA don't get that cut—the merchant gets everything.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

It's that time of year when Americans set up quaint, walkable Christmas villages in their living rooms, dreaming of living in such a cozy place.

Meanwhile, they'll show up to city council meetings to fiercely oppose any plan that would actually build that kind of car-lite community in real life.

Bari Weiss, I believe this is your moment.
Is it a threat to free speech when the President of the United States threatens to yank the broadcast license of a channel whose reporters are asking him challenging questions?

I ask because I feel like there used to be tons of pundits worried about free speech. Where'd they go?
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."
