Anyone cheering this has to be deluding themselves. This pretty much guarantees a Senate or Presidential run from her in 2028, especially with her now positioning herself as an anti-MAGA Republican.

She hasn't had a change of heart. She's playing the long game.
BREAKING: Marjorie Taylor Greene says she's resigning from Congress — effective January 5, 2026.

See what I mean? Pure ingenuity...
My favourite Cameron story is about TERMINATOR. Low budget meant no blue screen studios big enough so he built a deck on the back of his house and used the California sky.

Run 'n' gun Cameron stories really are the best.
In one of the final filmed shots of The Terminator, James Cameron wanted to explode a car, but was absolutely refused any further extension to the movie’s budget.

He solved the problem by blowing up his own car.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

Let's see...

- A sequel book to Hooper's SALEM'S LOT.
- A Van Helsing spin-off from Coppola's DRACULA.
- A sequel to the tie-in novel RETURN OF THE WOLF MAN centered around Larry Talbot again.
- A 1960s spy novel involving a Predator.
- A third Snake Plissken tale set in the aftermath of EFLA.
A film you personally would want to do a tie-in book for (any era)

"Rian Johnson is upset that WAKE UP DEAD MAN won't be playing everywhere on the big screen!"

Cool. He probably should have considered that when he signed a $400m deal with Netflix then, huh? He had other offers on the table from major studios. He passed on them. He only has himself to blame.

Can we not just leave things be and let the Mutant Mayhem film series continue?
A new live-action ‘TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES’ reboot is in the works.

‘Sonic’ producer Neal H. Mortiz will produce the film with Paramount wanting to “Sonic-fy” the TMNT franchise

I saw someone comment "We don't want Netflix to win, because then we'll lose a major theatrical studio!"

Well what do they think is going to happen if Paramount or Universal win out? They'll just absorb it. We're losing a major theatrical distributor no matter what here, given the suitors at hand.
I'm reminded of the ALIEN VS. PREDATOR tagline.

Whoever wins, we lose.

Now now...

Let's not lump vampires in with utter scum like Vance and Nazis. That's just mean!
I guarantee you that right now, JD Vance is huddling with his team of nosferatus and nazis, workshopping a "humorous" and "relatable" my-kid-did-this-to-me-but-you-childless-coastal-elites-can't-relate-to-that response
There’s no way this is real

One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone refers to something that was a hit upon release as "cult".

If it was a hit when it came out, it's not a cult film or show. It's a popular hit film or show. Cult media builds up a notable following over time, it doesn't have one right out the gate.

No one wants or needs a version of THE ODYSSEY that is devoid of gods & monsters. I sincerely hope Nolan knows this.
I spend a not inconsiderable amount of time trying to imagine how Nolan is going to handle the monsters and the gods in THE ODYSSEY and how weird it's going to be if he tries to sidestep all of that to "ground" it. I can't imagine what that film's going to look like.

thought Steven Kostanski's Deathstalker was a blast. like a Frank Frazetta fever dream seen through the lens of Sam Raimi. a super fun homage to (and spoof of) '80s & '90s fantasy - kinda like if The Sword and the Sorcerer had jokes and gags

Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Mr. Hyde, Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, The Thing, and Pennywise all definitely make the grade for me. As well as all the monsters of Greek mythology.

I hate to be boring by picking the big obvious choices, but that's just where my chips land.
What's your favourite monster/creature from literature? I'm thinking Tuunbaq from Dan Simmon's The Terror, the triffids from Wyndham's Day of the Triffids, the demon from M.R. James' Casting The Runes, Grendel, Pennywise, etc.

"Breaking: Universal orders WB to retitle their upcoming movie The Mummy!"

Yeah...no.

Universal doesn't own the title "The Mummy". Nor are they involved with the New Line/Blumhouse movie from Lee Cronin. I buy that the film is getting retitled, but legal stuff with Universal is not the reason why.
