NEW: The Trump admin is considering destroying 160 million COVID tests, worth half a billion dollars.

This would be a horrible waste. COVID is still around, and causes high levels of illness and deaths throughout the year. Tests are expensive. The government should send them to people for free.

I humbly admit prior to #LongCovid ripping me out of my life, my mindset was all of the below. Pull up those bootstraps!

I wrote my story to educate others that is not the case. I’m amazed when I hear “it took so much courage to share like you did” because I felt called to #StopTheStigma
If we could get folks to realize that both disability and homelessness can happen to anyone … perhaps they would care more.

The current mindset is that it must be someone’s fault. They made bad choices. They didn’t try hard enough. “It will never happen to me”

It just takes ONE stroke of bad luck
One thing that isn’t talked about enough is how closely tied disability can be to homelessness. Many disabled people are forced into poverty in order to keep their medical benefits. By doing so, the income they receive isn’t enough to live off of. This isn’t a moral failing, it’s the system’s fault.

"You cannot keep destroying nonviolent movements without popularizing violence as an alternative."

Facts
We are getting presented with a false binary: do we support violence or do we support nonviolence?

The choice here is more about a reality that people have only begun contending with. Revolution is coming. The question is whether we will be participants and if so how.

My latest.
What Kind of Revolution Do You Want?
It's not just about a CEO's murder. It's about the kind of change we want and how we get there. And why we're here in the first place. A message to both those condemning and those celebrating the act.
