This is roughly correct. Only Congress can reclaim its own power.

SoCal friends, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. A few things I wish I’d known as we evacuated ahead of a wildfire (that took our home in 2021) 🧵

yeah I liked Montreal *a lot* but Quebec is very strange. Canada is fine, Canada is just another country. Quebec is like visiting an alternate timeline where Napoleon won WW1 or something.

If there ultimately has to be some entity that rations healthcare and tells patients/consumers “no” it totally makes sense why given the culture of the US the public has decided it should be for-profit corporations rather than the government.

You love to see it.
I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime.

CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants

So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election

It is about to conclude. Syrian rebels are pouring into Damascus City.

It’s good to know that even over here at this social network there are idiots to block.

Getting rid of the penny saves $100+ million/year but everyone will notice and some will complain.

Changing the composition of the penny will save single-digit millions/year but no one will care.

It's a tiny issue but a decision that will be indicative of how bold the DOGE is willing to go.

NYC used to consistently build 5-10 new subway stations every single year.

Since 1990 we have built 4. Not 4 per year. 4 total over 34 years.

If Democrats are going to prove we can govern, we need to fix this asap.

I feel it’s reasonable to give the singalong crowd the first week or two. I mean why not. Can’t we all get along?
If you go to a Wicked showing and start singing they should be allowed to beat you with popcorn bags. Them babies came to hear Ariana Grande and Cynthia Eviro, not Pam from the community theater troupe. GROW UP.

Honestly this might be a better product than actual home insurance.
One thing that stood out when I interviewed Tarek Mansour, CEO of Kalshi, is that ppl place bets on hurricanes battering their counties as a hedge against disaster, because they can't get home insurance where hurricanes are common.
