My two favorite movies so far this year are Eddington and One Battle After Another and in some ways they feel like cousin movies. Ari Aster & PTA are a couple of modern masters and I LOVE that they are taking on the current political climate in their storytelling!

Exactly this. Every variety of “neurodivergence” (autism, dyslexia, ADHD, etc) represents another way of thinking, and maintaining a diversity of minds has huge benefits to a population at large. Neurodivergence brings huge benefits in many areas as well as making some things more difficult.
I don’t mean to be annoying but it’s so goddamn obvious to me that neurodivergence is a fundamental gene set which allowed humans to get to where we are in craft, technology, and art. and yeah, evolution doesn’t care about suffering, so sometimes those genes get recombined in ways which hurt.
