This Passover we call to mind the multi-generational trauma arising from the process of brutalization.
Committing atrocities brutalizes the culture of the perpetrator. The erase of the crime under the aegist of protecting Jews (like me) against "anti-semitism" is despicable.

There are now more people in ICE detention than ever before — 68,440 people.

Most have never committed a crime. Many are being held in facilities with horrific conditions. It’s cruel and inhumane, and it must end. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

The trump White House did and continues to do record breaking crime sprees, and there are lawyers, many of whom this administration employs or keeps on figurative or literal retainer on the outside, who are willing to say “8 minus 7 equals 14” in front of judges

That is a debate I guess if you…

I’ve been worried about this. People who signed up for a US ‘self-deportation’ scheme say their payoffs were delayed, misdirected or never arrived – leaving them empty-handed in their home countries.
‘They tricked me’: Migrants were promised $1,000 to voluntarily leave the US. Some never received it

Brilliant article.

I'm reminded of Dan Farber's 1986 article, "The Case Against Brilliance," which is pretty much about that problem in the legal academy.
