Jack Smith: "My fear is that we have seen the rule of law function in our country for so long that many of us have come to take it for granted. The rule of law is not self-executing. It depends on our collective commitment to apply it."

The first thing Virginia Spanberger did after being sworn in as Governor of Virginia was repeal Youngkin’s executive order requiring state and local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE.

This is the kind of leadership Democratic governors nationwide should be emulating.

Today is National Thesaurus Day.

Personally, we find these made-up holidays contemptible, abhorrent, nauseating, repugnant, and unpalatable.

There was 10x more coverage about the former-Democratic Secretary of State meeting the Democratic AG on a tarmac for 10 minutes to chat about grandchildren, and how that threatened the integrity of DOJ, than there has been about Trump using DOJ as his weapon against US.

It’s hard to overstate the destructive impact of Trump invading and taking over Greenland. It would end NATO, destroy our relationships with virtually every NATO country and lead to the further unraveling of the many economic benefits that now accrue to the US as the world abandons Trump’s America.

Governor Spanberger made her first address to the General Assembly today

She gave her most clear statement of support for Dems redistricting efforts

The fact that voters have to approve it gives her some political cover

But the exact map still have to be released

There are so many horrors on an hourly basis, it is hard to keep up. But spare a moment to absorb this picture of the future. The end of science (and very possibly America) as we know it.
This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

Very disturbed by reports that some agents were not spit upon.
Border Patrol agents are very sad that everyone in Minnesota hates them.

“At each gas station where the agents stopped to use the restroom, groups of agitators appeared, yelled at them, stalked them, and even tried to prevent law enforcement vehicles from leaving…”

The Trump regime’s escalation in Minneapolis is by design.

The shortest path to an authoritarian regime was always Trump’s mass deportation campaign. It requires authoritarian infrastructure.

And it provokes a response that they then portray as “insurrection”- a pretext for seizing more power.

There is no recalibrated or sanitized way to conduct the war that Trump and Stephen Miller are waging on American cities right now. That’s because it’s a campaign of deliberate terror.
The policy *is* the terror, and the terror *is* the policy.
